The Style Foundation is working in the Maasai village Oloirien. Oloirien is located in the southwest of Kenya, 10 km from the beautiful nature reserve the Maasai Mara. This jewel is on the world heritage list of UNESCO and contains one of the seven wonders of the world: the annual migration of the wildebeest. For centuries, the Maasai people ensure the ecological balance of human-animal nature. A balance that is increasingly disturbed by wealthy and profit-driven foreign organizations that look in this area for opportunities to get rich.
The local population has not the benefits of this. Capitalist developments discourage the Maasai people: the faith in a bright future of the local youth is nihil. And that is exactly what The Style Foundation wants to change. View on proper education followed by a good job in order to secure the future of the Maasai (Mara).
