Volunteers visited the school in Kenya
Last month, a group of volunteers visited the project in Kenya. By visiting they got to know the project better and they also helped to promote the school among students and tourists.
Anton ten Westenend is one of the volunteers who visited the school. He stayed behind to coordinate all activities at the school.
To notify the neighbourhood
The school staff actively notifies the neighborhood around the school in Kenya. In several villages they stand with information desks to interest any prospective students. And this pays off! Interested villagers visit the school and the number of students increases.
Kenyan driving lessons
The school offers a new course: driving lessons. For tour guiding students it is important they are good drivers. In Kenya the lessons are different than in the Netherlands. They will practice first on a board with small cars.
Promotion among tourists
Tourists can stay at the school or book an excursion. To promote these new possibilities the volunteers brought some promotional materials, like flags, a banner and flyers. Step by step more and more people are informed about this hidden treasure in Oloirien.
